Getting to know the Thai foods

    Thai people will have "rice" as their main dish.  They will have other dishes of foods in each meal.  Rice is the main carbohydrate dish. Besides rice, Thai people will also consume other foods made of flour such as noodle, vermicelli, glass noodle etc.  For the protein, it will come from various meats for example : fish, beef, pork, chicken, crab, shrimp, squid. Vegetables are also the main ingredient in Thai dishes.  Some vegetables are used to create their flavors whereas the others are used for their fibres.  These are some kinds of Thai herbs which are very useful for health.  Side-dishes which are the very important parts for Thai foods, will always be served on the table too.  Sauces are the most neccessary things for every dish of Thai food.  No matter how well the foods are cooked, sauces must be added on the table of each meal.  The Thai sauces will have a great variety of flavors such as salty taste from the fish sauce (Nam Pla), bean soy ( See Eew) hot and spicy taste from many kinds of chillis, sweet taste from sugar, syrup and palm sugar, sour taste from lemon juice, tamarind juice and vinegar.  But most of the Thai sauces will have many flavors in one dish.  For example the sea food sauce will made of minced chillis which is very hot, Nam Pla which is salty, syrup or sugar which is sweet and the most essential part is the lemon juice which will give the sour flavor to the sauce.  There are so many kinds of sauce in Thai foods.  If you make yourselves accustomed to the sauces.  You will enjoy Thai food for your every meal

As Thailand has many other foreigners who come and settle their lives here.  The taste of food, therefore the mix of all tastes such as sweet, salty, sore and pungent. This forms up the tasty food.

  How to prepare Som-tum

 1 green papaya

 5 garlic cloves

 1 chilli

  1 table spoon tamarind juice             2 table spoon lemon juice

 3 table spoon fish sauce                    1/3 cup ground dried shrimp

 3 table spoon palm sugar               1/3 cup tomato cut in small piece

                                                     1/4 cup of peanut
